The conservation agreement conforms to provisions as outlined in the Natural Heritage Conservation Act (L.R.Q., c. C-61.01). Ruisseau Robert Natural Reserve belongs to Category 1 of protected areas of the World Conservation Union (1994), which means that it is an integral nature reserve and has been designated a protected area by a chartered private organization in Quebec. The Reserve is located in a traditionally agricultural area that has been subjected to the pressures of residential development. The Reserve¹s land is made up of wooded areas, marshes and former agricultural areas that have been left to return to their natural state.
