GENERAL INFORMATION
Ruisseau Robert Natural Reserve, founded by the Quebec Fauna Foundation, is an example of private effort for the conservation of natural habitats of notable ecological value. The conservation agreement conforms to provisions as outlined in the Natural Heritage Conservation Act (L.R.Q., c. C-61.01).
Ruisseau Robert Natural Reserve belongs to Category 1 of protected areas of the World Conservation Union (1994), which means that it is an integral nature reserve and has been designated a protected area by a chartered private organization in Quebec.
The Reserve is located in a traditionally agricultural area that has been subjected to the pressures of residential development. The Reservešs land is made up of wooded areas, marshes and former agricultural areas that have been left to return to their natural state.
